Laymen's Mission
Statement
The
objectives of the Laymen's Auxiliary shall be the
enlistment and utilization of the talents, time,
energies, and efforts of the laymen of the member
churches of the Association for an effective work of
Christ through the local church; to cultivate the
Christian life of laymen through study, worship,
fellowship, and service; to encourage an
understanding of the Christian faith and the meaning
of church membership, including the doctrines,
polity, and practices of the Baptist Church; to
inspire the laymen to the total support of the
program of the local congregation and the Body of
Christ, as well as the community, denomination, and
the world, and to promote outreach for fellowship and
evangelism for the youth of our churches and the
unsaved and inactive. The Laymen's Auxiliary shall
supervise the Junior Laymen's
Department.
As an
auxiliary, our goal for the past year and will
continue to be for this associational year is,
“Meeting the Standard.” In doing so, we would have to
know God's purpose, place and plan for men. The
standard was set when Jesus told those first
disciples to “Follow Me and I will make you fishers
of men.” (Matt. 4:19 NKJ)
No
matter at what level of functioning we are, whether
national, state, association or local church, God's
purpose for men is the same. The spirit of God must
be allowed to exercise his role in our lives if we
are to be all that God created us to
be.
